Samsung Galaxy S or Apple iPad?

Need to work mobile for the next six months and contemplating using a tablet instead of my old laptop which is a brick of a machine. the Galaxy S from Samsung looks a nice tablet and good pricing but there is so much going for the Apple iPad - which one do I choose? An would I be better off waiting for the next incarnation of the iPad?

I was hoping that santa was going to bring me a new Ipad....alas....he must have forgot!
good debate though, my mobile phone is up for renewal and im very tempted with the samsung galaxy.
What the pros and cons vs the iphone? -
Personally I'm a big fan on the Apple iPhone as it is the original and easiest to use of the smartphones, plus you get all that compatibility with other apple products and services such as the app stores, iCloud syncing and storage. iPhone all the way ;)
